McDonald’s is now offering wedding catering services! While you won’t be able to have your actual ceremony inside one of their restaurants, the fast food chain has unveiled a wedding package for those who desire to indulge in chicken nuggets post-vows. The package promises a range of offerings and experiences, but there’s a small caveat involved.
The newly introduced catering package is exclusively available in a single country.
Newlyweds in Jakarta, Indonesia have the opportunity to delight their wedding guests with a scrumptious offering from McDonald’s. The announcement was made on McDonald’s Indonesian Instagram account, revealing that the package includes 100 chicken burgers and 100 boxes of 4-piece chicken nuggets, all for the price of 3.5 million Indonesian Rupiahs (approximately $230).
The Instagram post cheerfully declares, “McD’ers, let’s make the wedding moment more memorable with the Wedding Mekdi package. We also offer various other exciting package options with a minimum order of 200 pieces.”
While the menu includes more than just chicken options, McDonald’s also offers additional food stalls, albeit at an extra cost. The post highlights that couples who wish to accommodate a larger number of guests can do so by increasing the size of their food order, allowing for flexibility and customization according to the bride and groom’s preferences.
It’s worth noting that McDonald’s has been providing wedding packages since 2011, catering to couples seeking a unique and unconventional dining experience for their special day.
Back in 2011, certain McDonald’s restaurants in Hong Kong offered a special deal for fully catered events. The basic wedding package, priced at approximately $1,300, provided accommodation for 50 guests. It featured goody bags filled with toys and a creative pyramid of boxed apple pies as a unique wedding cake alternative. Additionally, for an extra $165, the bride had the option to rent a gown made of pearly white balloons, adding a whimsical touch to the occasion.
While McDonald’s weddings offer a distinctive and affordable option, some celebrations venture far beyond fast food catering. In the world of celebrity weddings, a select few have gone to extraordinary lengths, with some costing millions of dollars. In fact, the most extravagant wedding on record surpassed the $10 million mark in terms of expenses.
