Warner Bros’ movie Barbie boasted an impressive ensemble cast, with America Ferrera joining as a co-star alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. In 2017, Time magazine recognized her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Recently, the star revealed an intriguing detail about her guilty pleasure.

During a candid video interview, Barbie star America Ferrera participated in a game where the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, and co-stars Margot Robbie, Kate McKinnon, and Issa Rae tried to guess her secret guilty pleasure. Despite various food-related guesses, Gerwig finally suggested it wasn’t food-related at all. Ferrera then confessed, “No, I don’t feel guilty about any of those things, but my guilty pleasure would be… I’m going to really regret saying this… It’s not showering for a few days.” Her candid response left her colleagues shocked.

Interestingly, America Ferrera isn’t the first celebrity to openly discuss their bathing habits. In 2021, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis revealed that they don’t bathe their children daily, humorously stating, “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.” Kristen Bell also admitted waiting until her daughters have a noticeable odor before bathing them, while Jake Gyllenhaal shared that he doesn’t bathe daily, as it helps with his skin maintenance.

Experts highlight that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all shower routine for everyone. For most people, showering several times per week is considered sufficient, unless they are particularly dirty, sweaty, or have other reasons to shower more frequently. Short showers lasting three or four minutes, focusing on cleaning the armpits and groin, may be enough to maintain good hygiene. Ultimately, individual needs and preferences should be considered when determining the appropriate shower routine.
On a side note, if you’ve watched Barbie, you might have noticed the pink dreamhouse from the movie. The good news is that it’s available for rent, but only for two nights. Don’t miss this chance!
