Lautner’s revelation of the correct pronunciation of his name has left everyone astonished. What’s even more intriguing is the reason behind the 31-year-old actor’s decision to remain silent and not correct anyone until now.
During a recent podcast appearance, the Twilight star finally addressed the issue and clarified, “It is technically Lout-ner, but I just never stopped somebody in interviews or anywhere else and said, ‘It’s not Lawt-ner. It’s Lout-ner.'”
Taking full responsibility for the long-standing mispronunciation, Taylor acknowledged, “It is my fault that nobody knows how it’s actually pronounced because I never corrected anybody for decades.”
Known for his kindness and easygoing nature, the actor revealed that hearing his name pronounced incorrectly never bothered him. He shared, “I just go with whatever. I don’t care.”
Having embarked on his acting journey at the age of nine in 2001, Lautner recently opened up about his reasons for not addressing the mistake earlier. He candidly explained that during his early years in the entertainment industry, he experienced a sense of nervousness that prevented him from correcting others and pointing out their errors.
Reflecting on his past, he shared, “I think when I was 11, after Sharkboy and Lavagirl, I wasn’t going to tell people they were pronouncing my name wrong.”
